Volunteering: Fostering
Acting as a foster family for an Airedale in need is a great way to help without providing the lifelong commitment needed to adopt an Airedale.
Can you Provide Foster Care?
We are always looking for experienced Airedale homes to foster a dog. If you would like to foster

Foster Families Sometimes Need Some Help
Here is how you can assist:
- Bake some homemade doggie biscuits.
- Give the foster a break for a few hours or days.
- Be the one to take the dog to its obedience class.
- Conduct a home visit or accompany a Rescue person on the home visit.
- Drive a dog to and from vet appointments.
- Go with a Rescue person if a dog needs to be euthanized.
- Go with Rescue person to help if there is more than one dog.
- Take dog for treatments or vaccinations if Rescue person can not go.
- Get some friends together to build/repair pens for a foster home.
- Go to the foster home once a week with your children and dogs to help socialize the dog.
- Let Rescue know when you'll be flying and that you'd be willing to be a Rescued dog's escort.
- Loan your carpet steam cleaner to someone who has fostered a dog that was sick or marked in the house.
- Loan your cell phone (and cover costs for any calls) to someone driving a Rescued dog.
- Make yourself available on an emergency basis to do whatever is needed.
- Provide a shoulder to cry on when the Rescue person is overwhelmed.
- Transport a dog.
- Walk a dog.
